ARTISTS’ RIGHTS 101

ARTS LAW WORKSHOP AT CCAS

11:30am - 12:30pm Tuesday 5 December, CCAS Lakeside
Free event, bookings required as places are limited

CCAS is thrilled to join forces with Arts Law to present this FREE in-person lunchtime workshop. Join us to gain insights from an expert on safeguarding your artistic rights. Creating art often means creating copyright. Let Arts Law guide you through understanding and managing your copyright, collaborating with others, and how to protect your rights online. Katherine Giles, solicitor and Head of Legal and Operations at Arts Law, will address what to do if someone uses your copyright without your permission, and how to seek permission to use someone else’s work. The session will cover the nuances between copyright and Intellectual Property, providing guidance on owning, maintaining and potentially commercialising your own IP. Additionally, we will also look at contracting, and some of the key issues artists often deal with when negotiating arts contracts.
