Great news! In 2018 CCAS will begin the reinstatement of residencies for emerging artists. This groundbreaking scheme linked to EASS (ANU School of Art & Design, Emerging Artists Support Scheme) was suspended in 2017 following the Australia Council's decision not to provide CCAS with recurrent funding. Next year, two places will be available for an invigorated program. CCAS will then attempt to add two new places each year until the program returns to six participants annually. The details of the program are below.

  • Assistance with finding appropriate studio space
  • Residents are eligible for:
    • inclusion in Blaze the annual ACT emerging artists’ exhibition at CCAS Gorman House
    • solo exhibitions at the Manuka gallery
    • access to CCAS facilities and professional support over the year
    • great networking opportunities

Over the year it is desirable if residents are able assist staff by participating in some CCAS activities such as gallery minding, installation or working the bar during openings.

Applicants must submit the following:

  • CV (1 page max)
  • one A4 page project description (what you would like to do throughout the year)
