Dierdre Pearce

I work with drawing, photography, sculpture and installation. I’m interested in how we interact with the physical, social and psychological spaces we inhabit; in how we map the boundaries between our interior and exterior worlds. Because I’m exploring ways of creating meaning, my work often refers to objects which can operate as symbols, to patterns and their interpretation, and to the body and the way it collects information through the senses. I’m fascinated by the way the web is increasingly part of ourselves and our environment. I have been exploring the possibilities of this different sense of self and space as it applies to my self, and to the relationship between the work I make and the spaces in which it is exhibited and viewed by audiences.
