Julia Boyd

2012

Julia is an experimental artist working with photography and installation. As she paints onto and manipulates the surface of the photograph, she subverts the typical uses of the medium. Julia uses traditional photographic techniques, such as medium format photography and darkroom printing, but then applies these to found and industrial material creating “a unique representation of the world around us”.

Julia will use this residency to explore different ways of creating and displaying photographs, including the use of liquid emulsion and inkjet printing on glass and board.
