Seed

8 - 17 November 2024, CCAS Manuka

Exhibition Opening 6pm Thursday 7 November 2024

Seeds of thought’, ‘going to seed’, ‘seeds of doubt’, ‘reaping what you sow’. The humble seeds provide  rich metaphors to explore our understanding of where we have come from and where we might be going, the promise of great things from small, the importance of fertile conditions to our individual experiences of life, as well as existential threats when those conditions go awry.

FiveInk weave their distinct personal narratives via the medium of printmaking on paper, fabric, found wood and natural pigments, themselves literal manifestations of seeds.

Their works touch on the variety of human experience and the upheavals of global events—be it the relentless march of climate change or the reverberations of conflict echoing across borders. Their works also reach into the personal domain, exploring the nuances of grief, caring for others and the quiet joys found in simple contemplation. Themes of displacement, belonging, and resilience will thread through the exhibition.
