COLLAPSIBLE VISIONS
HANNAH BEASLEY
17 - 27 November 2022 @ CCAS MANUKA
Hannah recently spent three years living in Tehran, Iran. The work in this exhibition follows a solo show she held in Tehran in 2019 called βThe Architecture of Clouds,β and is made in response to hyperbolic geometry and to patterning in islamic architecture, in particular Mukarnas Kari, a type of tiled vaulting common in Iranian mosque ceilings. It explores the representation of infinite, impossible and multivalent spaces on a 2D plane.
