DAMN

ANNIKA HARDING

Exhibition Dates: 20 May - 27 June 2015

DAMN is an exhibition of paintings on cardboard by Annika Harding, exploring landscapes in stages of destruction, construction and activity. The rawness of materials and vivid application of paint reconstruct images of large scale land projects aiming to shape the environment to suit man’s needs. Harding is fascinated by these landscapes, aiming to draw out questions about man’s exploitation of land and how to change these attitudes in the future.

When he saw some of the works at Sawtooth gallery in Launceston, CCAS Director David Broker said ‘Annika Harding’s landscape paintings on cardboard reflect an unsettling space between beauty and degradation. This is some of Annika’s best contentious environmental work yet.’
