 Fritz Who? is an exhibition of drawings and prints by Canberra artist Brian Smith. Originally issued as trading cards, Smith’s works on Fritz Haber (Nobel Prize winner and gas warfare unleasher) explore how our opinions are formed and challenged by new and incomplete information. CCAS Director David Broker said, “Brian Smith is a new artist capable of startling versatility. While he is a draughtsman of significant skill, each of his works are also insightful portraits that study the contradictory faces of Fritz Haber; a scientist both reviled for inventing gas warfare and praised for introducing fertilizers that enable the world to be fed.”
